Through Lost Themes (2015), Lost Themes II (2016), and Anthology (2017), John Carpenter has shown that, despite the number of horror-synth artists seemingly popping up every day, he’s still king of that particular castle. The director/musician honed his sound while composing synth scores to his early movie hits Halloween (1978), The Fog (1980), and more, and in his second career as a touring musician, he’s solidified the core of his band to revolve around himself, son Cody Carpenter, and godson Daniel Davies. The family tree is already beginning to seed, with a brand-new synth album by Davies called Events Score just released through Lakeshore Records digitally, with a vinyl edition coming from Burning Witches Records.
