Godzilla fever may be sweeping the world in the wake of the American reboot and the 60th anniversary of the orignal, but for some, the irradiated lizard has been a lifelong passion. Case in point: self-taught filmmaker Billy Dubose, the writer, director, producer, editor and star of one of the most ambitious fan films ever made: Godzilla: Battle Royale. The 31-year-old native of Elmhurst, Illinois even managed to cast the star of the original 1954 Gojira, Akira Takarada, and Robert Scott Field, the cyborg M-11 from 1991’s Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah.
